Cold Brew Smoothie

I wasn’t much of a breakfast person until B made these Cold Brew Smoothies. Maybe it’s because I find mornings to be the most busiest/productive time of my day, and I’m too preoccupied to think about breakfast. However, a smoothie (especially this one!) is a great go-to when you’re on a time crunch – plus, it’s jammed packed with healthy goodies for your body. And not to be dramatic or anything, but these Cold Brew Smoothies are TO DIE FOR. And you don’t have to enjoy them just for breakfast, they’re great for lunch or for an afternoon pick-me-up, too.

  • Almond milk
  • Cold brew*

*It’s up to you which brand of cold brew you’d like to use for this smoothie. B and I make our own with the KitchenAid Cold Brew Coffee Maker, which is one of our favorite kitchen tools by far; and as avid coffee drinkers, it was a great investment (retails at $99).

*When it comes to protein powders, it can be a little overwhelming – honestly, I was completely lost at first. But ask yourself a few questions, like: Will this be my only meal this morning? Am I going to the gym (being more active) today? Is it ladies night at the buffet tonight? All these questions will help you figure out the type of nutrients your body needs to take on the day.

A few key staples I look for when choosing a protein powder include: Organic, Vegan, and Gluten free. If you’re looking to make a quick smoothie, you might as well jam pack it full of good ingredients. Case in point: myself. For someone who doesn’t normally eat breakfast, and won’t eat until late afternoon, when I do have a smoothie, I want it to include greens and protein. As I went hunting for the perfect powder, I came across VEGA, a line that “chooses every ingredient with intention..” and also uses sustainable sourcing. Guilt free smoothie coming right up!
