Service
It’s hard to give a fair score on service, considering we were the only ones in the restaurant. But I will say this, Rachel (our waitress) didn’t smother us. Which may sound like an odd thing to say – but – it’s happened to me before on a few occasions – where a place is super dead, and the server doesn’t have too much going on, so they just kind of hover over you …. Anyways! Rachel gave a nice balance of service and space, so that was great. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgable, and recommended one of the greatest paninis I’ve ever had. So overall, the service was awesome. Towards the end of our early dinner, the place started getting busier. Between the staff arriving for their evening shifts, and the thirsty patrons arriving for their dinner reservations, I can only assume this place is very busy in the evenings.
Food
Now, let’s get to the good part! The FOOD at Ravens View Wine Bar. Since we’d been working out for what seemed like 27 hours prior to arriving, and this was our first time being here, we wanted to order the Ravens View entire menu. We didn’t though, don’t worry. Instead, we settled on a few choices of our own, and a recommended panini. For drinks, we ordered a carafe of red sangria which we sipped while cruising the menu. To begin we had the Cool Cucumber, Avocado and Tomato Dip; which was the perfect appetizer since we wanted something cool to eat (we were so hot from being outside), but yet something hearty. Followed by the Beet and Burrata Salad; which was delicious, but be sure to order extra dressing on the side. The Bartlett Beef Dip (panini); which has now set the standard for paninis VERY high in my books. It included: Prime roast beef, horseradish havarti, red wine sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions, garlic aioli and au ju. It was DELICIOUS! The Rustic Flatbread, which was topped with prosciutto, brie, fig spread, balsamic glaze and greens. It was good, but I had already fallen in love with the Bartlett panini. After devouring our apps and dinner, we were stuffed! However, as soon as Rachel mentioned a Strawberry Rhubarb pie that’s baked in-house, we were sold.
Overall
Overall, we had a fabulous time! However, I think our next visit will be an evening one, because I really want to see how the place vibes at night. What’s the crowd like? Would the service be as good? Do they have evening specials? I know the food is delicious, but it’s important to remember the atmosphere plays a huge part in enjoying one’s meal. They also have a patio, which to be honest, I didn’t go out on because it was so hot out. But it looked cute with it’s little red umbrellas! And according to their Instagram, it appears they have live music out there, too. So twist my arm, I guess I’ll be making a reservation and heading back soon!
