We then continued on to Juan Diego waterfall, which was amazing and bizarre all at once. As we were walking up the trail, some girls coming down from the falls said, “wouldn’t you do that in the early morning or late in the evening?” And I started thinking, dang, is this hike not worth it unless you do it at sunrise or sunset?…

They were not talking about the trail.

We arrived at our destination, and were greeted with not only a stunning waterfall, but also a naked lady.

I KID YOU NOT.

Granted, she had on some sexy sheer garment (however, it didn’t actually cover anything), and she was having a photoshoot. Here’s the thing, you want to have a nude photoshoot? Do you boo, that’s your choice. But what irked me about this situation was that she posted up in the prime photo location, and wouldn’t move for others. There were families trying to take some pictures, and she and her photographer just wouldn’t move – they didn’t even break to let others in! Rude. I think there’s a time and place to take your nudies, and at peak hours on a busy trail is not one of them. Anywho, here’s a censored pic of this utterly bizarre scene.

So, since she wasn’t going to move, we found this hidden path on the side of the waterfall that led to the higher falls that fed this one. It was steep, muddy and a little dangerous, word of caution to those attempting it… But it was so worth it!

After spending some time dipping our toes in the water, and enjoying the sheer beauty (pun intended), it was time to head out. If you plan on visiting this gorgeous rainforest, be sure to pack: water, snacks, and a raincoat. We probably would have stayed longer and explored more trails, but we were all starving, and decided to pack it in and head down to Degree 18 for lunch. It was an epic morning spent in the rainforest, and I can’t wait to go back!
