It’s been 16 days since our quarantine started here in Puerto Rico, and although I know staying home is necessary, it doesn’t make me miss being outdoors any less. With that being said, I wish I had more house plants/greenery inside our home to bring a little of the outdoors inside. Yes, I know there are a million other things to think about right now, but dammit, I need to take my mind off COVID-19 for just a moment.
Anywho, after mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon a post that brought a big smile to my face… A little indoor jungle with a cozy couch nestled within… I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend an entire afternoon posted up on this couch?
After seeing this, I fell down a rabbit hole of house plant accounts on Instagram, and with each new find, the smile on my face grew bigger. I couldn’t believe how happy these images made me; seeing these indoor spaces showcasing these beautiful plants really brightened my mood. Why? Maybe I’m going a bit stir crazy being cooped up inside, or maybe I just need a reminder of something thriving and surviving in this depressing time, or maybe, I just really love plants.
Am I a crazy plant lady in the making? Maybe? But, I’m ok with that.
And I can’t be that crazy considering all the benefits houseplants offer; according to NASA, houseplants can be very beneficial in different ways, one includes purifying the air in your home. Which is pretty freaking cool. Anyways, I figured since the IG plant accounts I found brought a smile to my face, I’d share with y’all some of my favorites. So, without further ado…

5. Wildly Rooted, Nichole Stolin.
I’m not only obsessed with her beautiful plants, but also her style; from chic furniture and fun plant styling, she’s a plant parent I would definitely hit up for tips on growing an indoor urban jungle.
4. A Canadian with all the right moves when it comes to house plants. Julia, who goes by Toronto Plant Girl on IG, has an incredible feed that boasts the most beautiful arrangement of plants. Plus she has two adorable dogs – so naturally I’m obsessed.
This IG account is a stunning collection of all things Urban Jungle. Plant parents from around the world submit (and tag) their best photos of their plants, and this feed features them. It hosts some of the trendiest plant photos, and really displays a budding (pun intended) community of plant lovers.
