The 5 Friendliest Cities I’ve Ever Visited

#4. Nashville, Tennessee (United States)

I’ve only been to Nashville once, and yet, it’s made the list of the 5 Friendliest Cities I’ve Ever Visited. When I worked for theCHIVE, Nashville was one of the many cities we visited for a Chive Meet-up. And let me tell you, that city is a party all in itself. However, it’s not like an LA party, where bottle service buys you status, where pretentious people are lurking around everywhere, or where every club is playing the same rap/EDM/top hits. No, not that kind of party. Nashville parties are welcoming; where you can wear cowboy boots instead of stilettos, where there’s always a ton of beer available (everywhere), and 99% of the music played is country. The entire atmosphere of this party is different – in a good way. One of my friendliest memories happened while out on Honky Tonk Row. I got separated from my group, and being so unfamiliar with the area, I started getting a little worried. BUT! When I started asking people for directions or to at least point me in the right direction, not only did each person I stopped give me directions – they offered to walk me to the bar! No joke. They didn’t brush me aside, or scoff me off. Each person was super lovely. And no, they weren’t all men (I know what you’re thinking). The last group of gals that helped me out even asked if I wanted to join their crew before finding my friends. THIS NEVER HAPPENS. Nashville, I’ve got mad love for your respectful partiers.
